Honda 40 (BF40a)
I have a slow leak where the piston goes up and down from the power trim assembly.
I called the Honda dealer they explained that the whole piston assembly will have to be replaced because that internal seal can’t be accessed and replaced separately. Of course, I’d rather not replace a $500+ part to essentially get a new o-ring. I have replaced these on other outboards with only using new o-rings.
Has anyone had this issue or any advice? I was hoping that the seals in the schematic (part #'s 48, 12, 47, 14) would be the issue, since I can order them cheaply.
