Hey Jimmyaadams, Im going with vinyl gold leaf to make it easier. My wife has a cutter that can cut all that stuff out with no problem. What is polysulfide? The boards are in great shape and the varnish is in good shape. It hasn’t been coated with new varnish in a loooong time and there is a little sign of flaking between boards.Im not going to do anything but the bottom for now and wait unitl after boating season to takle the re varnish.
A good site for wooden boats is Glen L Marine. They have lots of lit and dvds, supplies, forum, etc for the ameteur boat builder. Web address is: http://www.glen-l.com/
Beautiful boat! Are you planning on keeping on putting cushions on the seats? As pretty as those wooden seat look, they also look like they’d get hard after sitting awhile.

PT - If you can get your hands on a May ‘Lake Murray Magazine’, there is an article about a guy from Cola. that restored a 65 Hydrodyne. Its fiberglass but the lines are similar. Might be interesting reading for you. If you can’t find one but want one let me know and I’ll mail you mine.

Finally got the boat flipped and started to strip the bottom. As I figured the keel was completely rotten along with a small portion of the strips. The bottom had already been glassed a long time ago and after looking at what im working with, im probably gonna just reglass the bottom and leave the paint off. Any tips or suggestions greatly appreciated!
