Hosanna: May 30

It worked like it was supposed to. Had termial end of squid chain rigged with a hookless ballyhoo. Had naked dink baits, one running just ahead of the teaser chain on the flat line and the other just behind the chain on the short rigger. Fish showed on the natural teaser bait with a couple bill slashes. Immediately pulled in the teaser ahead of the billfish… fish was not interested in the flat line. Senator Chip Campsen reeled the short rigger bait up, got a big swirl from the outside of the spread then free spooled…six seconds, drew tight and FISH ON! Beauiful fight with lots of air time. White marlin tagged and released in 12 minutes. Sometimes it all goes like it’s meant to…we certainly know how to do it the other way too often. Ended day with 12 mahi, average over 20lbs, largest 35lb. Was fishing straight out in 450ft of water, temp 75 with occasional large weed pads and lots of scattered. Pix to follow.
