HOT couple of days on the water

There were 2 good bits. First the fish were biting both days and second there was a breeze. Take away either of those and it woulda suckedverybad

Yesterday fishing was slow on the falling. The bite picked up at dead low and came on strong for the first couple of hours of incoming. Caught and released tons of rat reds and quite a few slot fish. No real size with the biggest of the day just over 20 inches.
I did break off 3 big reds due to some “Premium” line that promptly went in the trash yesterday when I got home.

Hit it again today. I hit one of my favorite mid tide mud flats but got there a little late. Shoulda climbed out of bed when I woke up the first time. :face_with_head_bandage:
Headed a little further downstream and began picking away at the slot fish. Good bite today again getting better after the tide started moving back in. All but one were slotties today with the biggest at 23 inches unpinched, 24 pinched.
Low point of the day was losing a nice 18-20 inch flounder right beside the yak when he coughed up the bait and the circle hook didn’t find the corner of his mouth.

High point of the day was jumping in and going for a swim to film another one of Too Busy’s Tech Tips. Remember gang, it’s time to practice your re-entry skills. :sunglasses:

A few pics posted on FB along with some short vids. Hit up the Kayak Fish SC page.

The last couple weeks out on the broad creek here in HHI have been real rough. Catching more Reds on the afternoon low tides than the morning, which is strange to me. Because all summer the afternoons have been dead.

Yeah the stagnant heat has been really rough

I’ve been only going out at dawn and getting off the water by 11 or 12. Fishing’s been only so-so for me but then I’m only a so-so fisherman…
