Hot Shot report for 4-23 & 4-24

On Thursday we fished on the 350 line and found a handful of dolphin in 350-400 feet of water. Ended the day with six dolphins ranging from 10-20 pounds.

Today we fished the same area and followed it to the deep. We started the day with a 25 lb. blackfin and it only got better as the day went on. We caught a 150 lb. Mako shark on the planer rod. After a 45 minute battle, the Mako made its way into our fish box. It never flinched after bringing it onboard after dragging it backwards through the water with a tail rope on it. We ended up catching a dozen dolphins and a YELLOFIN TUNA! The yft weighed 23 lbs. A good sign of things to come, hopefully. The tuna hit a pink Lehi squitch on the long rigger with a small ballyhoo.

Back at it again tomorrow.
