Hot Shot report for Monday May 5

Today the Hot Shot fished straight out of Charleston from 300 to 500 feet of water. We caught a blue marlin on a purple and black Lehi Squitch, which put on a good show. It weighed about 150-175 lbs. Shortly after getting lines back in the water, another blue marlin ate a Marlin Magic lure on the flat line. This one was released also. It weighed about 300 lbs. During the rest of the day we managed 12 nice gaffer dolphins, up to 35 lbs. Congrats to Capt. Howard Moseley today for a great day. Fishing again tomorrow with me behind the wheel. It will be hard to top today, but I’ll try.

Nice going on your day!

Congrats to Howard. Think it is possible he got animated after seeing blue #2 for the day? nahhhhhh…nice work

I’m the angler that was lucky enough to be sitting next to the rod that got hammered by that 300 lb’r… Now, it wasn’t my turn but I “instinctively” set the drag and grabbed up that gear… I did turn to my partner whose turn it was and offer it up but he was a real gentleman and let me have it (I was cussing him about 30 minutes later)… I have to say BIG THANKS to the Hot Shot, Capt Howard and Phil, who got pretty wore out with those back to back babies…

Thanks again!!!

I fished the Hot Shot once a long time ago. The captain and mate were both top notch. We had a great time.

Congrats on the blues and keep it up!

I’m back and I’ve promised to behave this time.

I was fortunate enough to be on the boat Monday. Dick we missed you but Howard did a fantastic job. I have never seen a fish come in like that 300lb Marlin did. It was definitely a good day.
