Fished the home turf today…Wando River. Started throwing DOAs, mirror-dines and corks for trout and they all produced trout. Starting to see this years hatch get bigger. No monsters caught today but good quality fat trout. High tide and hot temps, found large numbers of pogys. Threw the net 2 times and had enough to sink the boat. Fished docks and some deep structure. Caught some brute reds ranging from 12-15lbs. Sure put a beating on the Battle 3000. Good day fishing. For pics visit my Facebook page. I have a BTL4000 and it raises the trout and redfish with ease and I never feel that it is too much reel. I am in the market for a 2000, though they are outta stock from PoorFish. Anyone know if anybody’s got them??..happy trails!

I found the pogys all over the place in the mid wando. You can use a 3000 for the trout but not needed. I have a few 1000’s on 4-10 lb st croix rods. It makes the trout fishing so much fun. I love my battle 1000 with 10lb braid. We have all sizes of the battles at Haddrells Point. If interested come by the Mt Pleasant location and I can set you up.

Still $89.99 for that 1 and 2000? I have a sienna 2500 now and love it but as I get more into trout fishing I want something smaller. How’s the rods action on the fierce combo for feeling light twitches and stuff of your small jigs? Thanks for the help man

I’d have to double check the prices but I’m sure it’s rightbthere at it. The fierce rods aren’t bad for the price. I’d personally try and match it up with one of the 6’6 st croix 4-10 lb rods. We can find you a perfect match.
