Hot water reds

The water was hotter than bath water yesterday. I brought this fish in fairly quickly and released him back to the water quickly but, he was slow to swim away. Just the little bit of fight seemed to exhaust him. It’s hot out there guys.

Caught him on a 7wt with a small felt crab pattern in a feeder creek.

measured 90.6 today on a flat. warm indeed and very little oxygen. purdy fush!

Nikon, you talking about the fish or me. I thought I was going to be a croaker for sure! I was only on the water for a few hours but, I bet it took some time off my life expectancy. Good thing my next door neighbor's pool is in full operation. Floating in a pool with a beer in your hand cures all ills.

Water in Beaufort is nice as all the reds I have caught on the flat the last 2 days were strong all the way to hand.
No reviving necessary and they all swam off strong!

I was just giving ya crap about the small red  I know it’s hot out there… I fish early or late but not mid day anymore…
