I had never heard of this until reading about it on here. Tried it with my last fish fry. I’ll never go back to mixing my own (which was good). House Autry is amazing.

I prefer to use the house autry chicken breader. It’s the same thing basically, just without the cornmeal.

House of Autry spicy hot is the best there is. You cant make better, no point in trying
House Autry also does some incredible stone ground grits…if you can find them…saw them once at Harris Teeter and bought a couple of bags…now can’t find them there in the last 6-8 trips…

I used House Autry for years until I tried Adluh. They make 2 kinds. One is called “Seafood Breader” and the other is called “Carolina Breader”. My favorite is the “Carolina Breader”, but both are far better, IMO, than House Autry. Unfortunately for most on here, the Adluh breaders are only available in 25lb. bags at their home office in Columbia, but if you can get it or know someone that can, it is well worth it. They gladly sell to the public and I get the bag and split it up into gallon freezer bags which will hold about 5lbs. each or split it with someone.

My wife and I love HASB, having some leftover flounder filet for lunch today, zapped in microwave. Recently used the spicy at a big fish fry… gotta say it was super good!
Thanks for the suggestions on mixing up other stuff, gonna try some.

No. Simply “House Autry” or “House-Autry”. The House mill merged with the Autry Brothers Mill Company in 1967 to form what is now called House-Autry Mills. http://www.house-autry.com. Personally, I still prefer Adluh, but for those of you who want a good deal on House Autry, you can get a 25lb. bag at the Chef’s Store on St. Andrews Rd. for about $22.00. A lot cheaper per pound than the small bags that you buy at the grocery store. Break it down into gallon Ziplock bags and put it in the freezer. It will not get hard(there’s no moisture in it), you can use it right out of the freezer, and it will keep for years.

Back when I ate Shark… I’d cut the shark in thumb size bites and use the HA Seafood breader and they were very good. Cooked some Trout a couple weeks ago and used the HA.
(After dealing with sharks for so long, I haven’t eaten one in 20 years.)

Yep- never noticed that. Been saying it wrong my entire life
Try an egg and milk bath then use HA Hushpuppy mix with onions (plus s&p). It makes a fine breading, better than the Seafood Breader.
