How big...........?

How big of a boat do I need in order to catch Mahi Mahi??
Can it be done, off our coast, in a 14’ skiff if I carry plenty of extra fuel?? Can I use my grandpa’s old 808 Zebco with 8# test mono??
BTW, which way do I go to get to the Gulf Stream?
If the Charleston wx forecast looks good, is it safe to assume that the conditions at the Gulf Stream(where ever that is) will be the same??
Also, if the local BassPro and Cabela’s are out of ballyhoo (I think that is what’s used), can I rig up small largemouth bass or bream in the same manner?
OH, how do you rig a ballyhoo??

Just figured that I would go ahead and throw the annual question out there before an alias does it. I’m sure that I missed plenty of the normal questions. If someone does sincerely ask these questions, then I am really sorry for a few reasons…

I guess that I am just bored waiting on my Sweetheart to get home!!

I want to catch the Mahi Mahi …

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

You didn’t ask how many miles out to catch them. What colors work best. Whether or not to leave during dark or light conditions. How nice a radio. Do you really need an EPIRB or SPOT. How fast to troll. How many can you keep. Do you need two motors or one, and you didn’t mention that you tried to search on the forum but had no luck so you just had to post your question.

you left off…

how far can i go ?
I always say…til you run out of gas

Where is the grillage…

Well, guys, I let y’all down. I am just a rookie at best!
Maybe next year I will remember all of the questions! I doubt it, though.
I do have a good memory, it’s just short!
I apologize!!

This interweb stuff is tough… sigh…

LOL but here is a true story, no it really happened. When I was stationed at CLNC I was out at AR355 (12 miles or so) and there was a old guy in a 18ft john boat. No Sh#* and john boat. I asked him if he needed help and he said something like; what do you think we did before they came out with all that fancy stuff. Laughed and moved on. Come to find out a guy I worked with knows the guy and he does that all the time.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

How can I tell if it is a mahi mahi or a dolphin? Can someone post a picture to help me ID them? Oh and do I really need tow boat us or sea tow? I know I am new here, but figured I would chime in!!

(**() lynn you must be bored , get that dingy of yours down on the river where it belongs and catch some shad . Geez
I had the misfortune of going to Outer banks with courtland and seeing all his jigging gear and technigues… Now i’ve got a garage full of it, hope there is something to jig for cause if i don’t produce some fish with it my wife’s gonna kill me. that **** is expensive LOL
Here is a question why do i buy more stuff when there is nothing to fish for than i do when the fishing is on? I guess its the anticipation and of course the internet.
see ya out there soon my friend.
