Was in Edisto this weekend with Semperfish and we decided we were going offshore to the Edisto 60 for some spade and cobia action. Picked up jellyballs on the way out and shortly we were on the 60 @ 07:30. One other boat about 500 yds from us. We hadn’t gotten anchored up good when two boats came into view headed straight for us. They got within 25-30 yards from us and one began to circle us asd if we were in his favorite pew in church. He backed off as we stared at him (3 in boat). But soon came in close again and looked as he was gonna try to bump us off our spot. Semperfish had a spinning reel with a 1/2 oz lead head with a fake 12" eel body. He then proceeds to make one of the most picture perfect spot on casts I have ever had the pleasure to witness. From our boat on about a 35 degree angle he put a perfect arc on the rig, right over with about 2’ overhang dead center of encroaching boats T top. Driver ducked, spun and looked at us. We both gave him our best that was no accident look. He then put it in gear and moved smartly out of casting distance. Not a word was said, but the point was made. Second boat anchored up a distance away, then when several boats had made anchor nearby he then began to troll the area. Hell, would not have surprised me if he had put a skier out!!
No more problems from the idiots after that and we proceeded to catch 7 10-12 lb spades, a triggerfish and Semperfish pulled in a nice 37" cobia, his first. I hooked a nice one, but after a 15-20 min fighr he came to boatside, looked at me and spit the hook at me. Oh well, can’t catch em’ all. Any input on how others handle moroons?
Take me fishing with you, and I will handle the moroons. Trust me on this one. I am a lady and that’s how I roll (although you may have to cover your ears).

Oooo boy do I, should have taken a bag full of that common sense you tried to throw in the boat that day too. Fishing for Cobia during a small craft advisory in a 17’ doesn’t really work out so well.
PS - One of the guys with me that day just got into MUSC, gives me a good reason to head up north 
so maybe come August I will be able to pay back a few of those beers.

If that was a good friend u would have never said a word.It is a big Ocean I see no reason to get on top of someone already fishing a spot.I however could care less if u came right next to me.I have already fished that spot and would move on.
