PhishinphaN and I fished from Ballentine to Buffalo Creek with no fish in the boat. Few short hits and I lost one on the way in. It may have been a gar, it did not run like a striper. We read scattered fish but no real concentration of fish. We even tried chasing some birds in Crystal Lake but never saw any fish under them. Just wondering if everyone else had a hard a time like us. Surface temp was 47 to 48. Seems like I never get anything when the water is below 50.
tom what time did you get off the water?
We did the same. Found birds diving everywhere…and nothing under them biting. We found lots and lots fish going into buffalo creek but they wouldn’t take any herring. One short strike was all the activity we had all day. Guess we are just waiting on the warm water.

We pretty much quit fishing at 11:30. I am judging from your response they turned on later. We had herring and shiners.
