How do I...

Insert a picture to a private message?? I’ve tried to copy & paste, didn’t work. Tried to use the “insert image” from the format, didn’t work. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

Wish I could help , but I’m about as computer literate as my Boykin. Will ask around some of the younger “techno” crowd at work and will get back if anything comes up.

I just sent you a PM with a picture as a test. If that works, you do it the exact same way you as you do it in a post reply.

I’ve attempted to do that, but, on the reply to message page there is a section just below the message area that has a little paperclip with “insert an image file” next to it. On the private message page, it is not there.

I’m confused.

Below is a screen shot of the PM text box. Click where I put the black arrow, this will insert the IMG tags in the text box. Then paste the url of the picture between the 2 tags

[img]paste url of picture here [\img]

The url you put between the tags has to be the location of the picture on the Internet, not on your computer. If on your computer you first have to uploaded it to the net somewhere.

Could you give me a little more help/info?? I’m not sure how to do that. Like 13skulls, I’m not much better than my dogs on the computer.
Thanks, Bob

Is your photo hosted on a site like Photobucket or on your computer. If it’s on a photohosting site like photobucket,or flicker or any other website, you’ll need to copy the link/url of the image.

If the image is on your computere, there is the paperclip icon that says Insert an Image File and you have to do what the pop-ups say.

Claim, see my post above. The private message page doesn’t have the little paperclip icon. I’ll try to copy & paste from Photobucket.(If I can remember my password & user name)

I gotcha. I don’t have the paperclip in my pm either. I guess you’ll have to dig out the photobucket or post the image to facebook and copy from there.

On ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ the image, then right click and choose “View Image”. Then Right Click and click Copy Image Location in the menu that pops up. That’ll work too.

(Sometimes you can skip the “view image” part…just depends on the image directory)

Bob, practice makes perfect! Send yourself a PM with a picture in it, to see if what you are doing is working. I didn’t know if I could PM myself until I just tried it and you can.

Bob, you have posted pictures before. It’s the same in PM’s.

Click on that “mountain” looking thing and paste your picture between the [ img ] and the [ img/ ]. I had to add some “spaces” to get the computer symbols to show up. Ignore them.

Your picture:

The computer code looks like this</font id=“blue”> (except I had to add a space behind the letter "g’ in “img” twice. The first “img” and the following “/img”.

[img ]http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l347/HappyBobbo/IMG_1041.jpg[/img ]</font id=“blue”>.

Just erase the spaces behind the “g(s)” and the picture will show up just, like the picture above.

Call me old fashioned or just a stubborn old fart, but I don’t have a Facebook account. For some reason, I do not like Facebook. I’ve never liked the idea of Facebook. I don’t know why, but it just rubs me wrong.:roll_eyes:

I’ll try the sending myself a PM thing & see how that works out. I’m determined not to let this beat me.
Thanks for all the suggestions, Bob

I don’t do facebook either, and I dang sure don’t tweet and twitter. But photobucket is a free and easy place to park pictures. Even I can do it.

Since there is not a paperclip icon in the PM box, try this as a work-around.

First post the picture somewhere here in a new post, or a reply to a post, even this one, using the paperclip icon. Once it shows up, right click on it and copy image location. Paste that URL into your PM and send it. Then go back and edit the original post and wipe the image location, depending on how private it is [:I][:0]

Facebook ain’t all bad, it depends how you use it and how you set it up. My security setting have mine set to “see post from family and friends.” You can look me up and see a very limited amount about me, but not my entire profile. And when you set up your profile, you don’t have to tell FB everything about yourself.

There is no rule that says you have to “friend” everybody and if you get one that drives you nuts, you can “unfriend” that person or set it so that you rarely see what they post.

Then there is what you post. You can tell the world you just had a cup of coffee in the morning and that you took a massive movement, or you can only post the really cool things that you did or pimp your aluminum welding business.

And it can be fun. A former coworker posted his high school photo and it didn’t have a mustache on him. I posted “I thought you were born with a mustache” and his wife liked the comment. Silly stuff.
