8 inches of rain this week hasn’t helped the fishing. Spota be out there right now but we pushed it back to 9am hoping the little bit of rain we have will pass thru this morning.

I would expect all of the rain we had to have an impact up in the rivers…Jetties should be fine.

Jetties were ok this afternoon after the current slowed down some. Big tides right now coupled with all the rain “upriver” means a lot of water moving thru. Check a tide log for current speeds and try not be out there when its peaking or else you will have to wait it out.

I took my new son-in law out to the jetties this morning. Nothing but small BSB’s, small whiting and one ray. Fished every spot I know plus 2 more. Water was flat. I thought we’d get on the spanish as calm as it was, but didn’t see any. Even ran out in the shipping channel a few miles and didn’t see any there either. We didn’t see any menhaden schools and only a few birds diving. The water was stained and moving very fast. Ended up going up the Wando, catching bait and putting him on his first redfish. His were 25 and 19". I caught a few more and a couple of trout. He also caught a small black drum. The water up there looked like dark iced tea or chocolate milk. The shrimp were harder to find then they have been lately too. All in all it ended being a good day.
