How long is too long??

My boat has been at the shop for 4 weeks now. The boat runs, but has some kind of fuel issue. He has replaced the fuel float and run codes, but that didn’t work. The mechanic works by himself, so I know that he is busy, but come on- my summer is running out before I have had a chance to get on the water once!

How long do you allow your boat to stay before considering taking it somewhere else? I’m in the Midlands, but do you think that Chas. Marine may be a better option?

I just got my new boat back (new to me). I brought it to Boat Tech on 391 going towards Prosperity. They said it would be about 1 and a half weeks and he was true to his word. He actually came in under his original estimate. Everybody else I called in Lexington/columbia said 2 weeks, but this guy came highly recommended so it was worth the drive. Boat Tech has several people working there but all seem to be country boys that are certified mechanics. I know what your going through. The Boat Doctor on 378 kept my Bass Tracker two months and never looked at it, so I picked it up and took it elsewhere. Maybe you might need to do the same. E-mail me for more information on Boat Tech.

Take it to Black River Marine in Orangeburg, no need to pull it all the way to Charleston. Andy and Jason are top notch and I am sure they can get you in and out in no time.
