How long do mack’s stay? I’ll be down in late September for shrimping and the guys want to give nearshore a shot too. I may try to drag some bait then, any suggestions? I’ll be in the Beaufort area.

As long as the water temp stays in the upper 70’s probably
water temps are the key. offshore i’ve caught kings in water that was 64 degs. inshore don’t waste your time if the surface temp is below 66 degs. its best if its above 68 degs. they date they usually leave the beaches is around nov. 15th. fall kingfish is the best of the year!
