???

Was thinking about taking on this project. Tried to pull up one of these boats on boat trader to see how much they are going for, but there is 0 on there.
Buddy told me this is one of the best riding hulls ever built, but he could be an idiot.

You think t/200 hp would be enough?

Am i out of my mind?

FYI, and to the best of my knowledge, the H.O. motors are more powerful than their “rating”; those are probably really 225’s or so, and I don’t think evinrude actually publishes any official rating for the HO series motors. My guess would be their rated as such so people can install higher horsepower motors than the boat is rated for and still maintain insurability. I know the MSRP of the e-tec 115 HO and 130 is the same, if that tells you anything.

If you really wanted to make that boat sweet, close in the transom and hang the motors on an engine bracket. I’d love to do a project like this…

a bracket would be a good idea, and make it feel like a 30’ boat. Don’t know if it is worth putting 25k into a boat that will only be worth 15k when your done.

Sounds like a good winter-time project to me!

Add a bracket and fill in that transom, but I’d get that hull surveyed real well. Lots of work to be done but you could end up with a nice ride for not much money in the grand scheme of things. Only thing is there are so many boats for sale and repo’ed right now, why would you want to put in the time and effort

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Have been looking for a newer W/A in the 26’ range that still has Warranty left on the engines and have not been having a whole lot of luck. I have a budget around 25k, but really want a couple years of motor Warranty.

I know i sound crazy… i nice newer 26’ w/a for under 30k. I have found them, but they are all Sea Foxes. Think i might rather have a big heavy beast like this one, with some nice engines / warranties till 2014

Than again might be happier with this
