Emptied my filter sunday. had maybe 2-3 table spoons of water after changing the filter 8 months ago. This is typical when i change my filter. How much water should I expect?
It’s my understanding that you won’t see water if using ethenol fuel. Water is absorbed in the ethenol, and burned in the engine. Don’t hold me to this, maybe Chris will comment.

If you are getting some water in the filter then it is doing its job. Keep changing them on a regular basis, don’t forget your fuel additives and don’t let the fuel sit too long (it’s that phase seperation thing you know). Steamboat, Ethanol is NOT our friend. It attracts water and causes hate & discontent for owners & mechanics alike. Happy Boating

Oh yeah, 1 more thing. Ensure you are using a 10 Micron filter to catch all the junk in the fuel.![]()
