How was the saturday trip?

Just wondering how everyone did on Saturday in the Folly river? Sorry I missed it, lets try it again soon.

“Paddle Solo, Sleep Tandem!!”

Hey Dolphin, I think everyone got blown out, I put in at 9:30, had a wet ride, but made it to the leward side of Long Island. Saw some reds but no takers. I’m going on a fishing trip on the 5th and will be back on the 14th(Sun). I’ve got monday(15th) off…wont to go fishing?:question:

Oh yeah, DD, thats a weekday:slightly_smiling_face:

We had five show Bud wiser , Patrick-Iscl(sp?), Dawgcatcher, Chris sorry I can’t remember your last name but nice Hobie, and myself. The wind was horrendous but we all fought it for a while. I was the first one to give in, and I don’t believe that anyone had caught anything before I left. It was great meeting all you guys and I can’t wait to get a group together again. Maybe try to make this atleast a monthly thing?

Matt

Hey whtz, where did ya’ll end up launching from, I went to the folly boat landing, didn’t see anyone, did the put in change?

Mud

Saturdays trip…where do I start, windy as hell. Launching from the Folly landing was shot down due to the wind. We ended up launching from a private dock behind some condos where is was a little more sheltered from the wind.

Sorry we missed you mudroc, I guess we left the landing about 8:50am after Dawgcatcher showed up from Columbia. I was surprised we had 5 show up…Thats a good showing for a windy day. I did catch a stingray, I think he felt sorry for me and hooked himself [:0].

Me, Dawgcatcher and Patrick hung out till around 12:30 and shot the bull…We decided the trip wasnt a bust, atleast we got to put some names and faces together and do some networking…

Someone pick a new date and place, and lets try it again…

Great to meet all yall, sorry for rambling…Im waiting for the coffee to brew so I can get to work…

Dawgcatcher, thanks for the 24oz bud…it was consumed with love…

bud

No problem Bud, the 24oz is the gift that keeps on giving! Even though it was a small hurricane out there I had a lot of fun paddling around my new boat. I got to see how everyone rigs their yaks etc… It was great meeting all of you. Lets do it again soon on a good day!

Sorry that we missed you Mudroc - That ■■■■ wind was blowing like crazy so like Bud wiser said we slipped back behind those condos. Next go round we’ll wait a longer! Hope to see ya’ll next trip.

Matt

This coming weekend there is a Cobia Tournament down here in Beaufort. I plan on fishing, but not in the tournament, just alongside another yak fisherman who is entering the tourney.

If interested, let me know.

Those who can’t fish, spend too much on seafood!

Sounds like you guys had a good trip. To bad I didn’t meet up with yah, maybe next time. By the way Dawg, new boat, lots of wind…How did it do?

Mud

I was really impressed with the way it tracked. Patrick-isc and I headed out under the bridge and on the way back we were dead against the wind. I had whitecaps coming over the bow, but I didn’t feel like I was over exerting myself. I was definatly tired when I got back to cola, but overaall I really like how the boat tracked. The rudder helps out a lot. I can’t wait to get down there on a calm day and catch some fish!
