Is all this rain good or bad for future trips?
For me large amounts of rain normally mess up the fishing… I have heard that inches of rain reduces the salinity in the water messing the fish up.
I am by no means a pro, so there may be guys out there that have better knowledge about the effect of rain on saltwater fishing.

It’s good for freshwater!:). But in all seriousness it doesn’t really affect my fishing because I never fish far up or super shallow a rainstorm, then I could see that
Fishing will be terrible. Stay home. I will tell you when it is okay to fish again.
Seriously, I am more concered with water clarity after heavy rains that salinity. Reds, trout, and flounder are very tolerant of low water salinity. I have been catching fish in areas that fluctuate in salinity wildly based on the tide all spring due to the higher than average rainfall.

you must dont swamp fish much. Rain will screw up fresh water fishing, especially the edisto river and four holes swamp

Went out this afternoon in hilton head after the rained stopped about lunch time. Reds were biting well on he higher end of the tide stacking up to get into the grass. It was a little windy though.
