It’s just a hobby, really stuff I do instead of posting on CF all day long. Thanks for noticing.
Some folks here could benefit from a hobby or a steady job in my opinion, but hey, you can’t fix stupid, right?

Easy there E.F. some people are masters of multi tasking and you post quit a bit here. As for me, my garden is also a hobby and no you can’t fix stupid. See it and have to deal with it every day.
Now back to those sweet peas?
Got tires on the wife’s car yesterday. My tire guy gave me a mess of squash and cucumbers.
I know where he lives and there’s a lot of deer in that area.
I asked him if he had much of a problem with the deer. Nope!!!
His solution.
Said he has an electric fence pulse type. Must be pulse to fire the light. He takes 4 ft single post fluorescent lights. Solders a lead on each end. Hooks one end to the fence and grounds the other. Put them at 50 ft intervals. Problem solved.
Oh yeah he also said they make LED lights specifically for that. But he’s cheap and they’re about $20 a piece.

Another way to cook squash when you have about had enough of them. pretty tasty:
Squash Patties
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups yellow squash, finely chopped
1 cup onion, finely chopped
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
½ cup plus 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
vegetable oil
DIRECTIONS:
In a large bowl, combine squash, onion, egg, salt and pepper. Mix well. Stir in flour. In a skillet, heat ½-inch oil over medium-high heat. Using a tablespoon, drop batter into oil. Cook about 3 minutes per side or until golden brown, turning once. Drain patties on paper towels.
I used to grow some decent maters until the trees shaded me out and the roots took over my garden spot. Same girl a few years apart.
The fig tree in the courtyard at Fort Pulaski in Savannah is the largest I have ever seen.
As of Today,
Thanks for the click

Can’t wait to see how that new pup fills out! I look at puppies like people selling a boat; its both the best and worst times! Although my guess is that one Mr. EdistoFisher would have a tried and true method for house breaking a new addition like that. Good luck!
As for my garden, I pulled the last squash and cucumbers off this Saturday. Looks pretty done to me. I just didn’t have the energy or want to fight the weeds this year with all the rain. They overtook me rapidly this season. I do have several good looking pumpkins this year, so hopefully those continue growing. The deer got all my watermelons this season and my cantaloupe never really did much, although their still flowering.

Nice looking pup EF. What breed is it? I picked up a couple in Tennessee about 5 weeks ago, a goldendoodle and a bernedoodle. They have been a hoot so far.
He is an F1B Goldendoodle. 8 weeks old today, and yes, a hoot so far. His markings and your apricot’s are very similar, good looking hound.
We had to put our last two dogs down about a year ago early on in the plague, one was 12, the other 14. This is the longest we have ever been without a dog(s) for a very long time,I think Regan was in charge then. I missed 'em to say the least.
We wanted to wait before getting a new puppy to do some longer and further traveling and a few other things that are difficult to do with dogs, but who knew covid would last this long? We should have gotten one earlier, but hindsight is 20/20. Now with the Delta variant raising its head we thought we might as well get one trained up.
My plan is to get a female Lakeland Terrier this spring and be driving a new 3/4 ton decked out Silverado somewhere mid 2024 courtesy of those mixed breed common yard dogs pups.

I wasn’t going to say nothing. But when I clicked on this thread it popped up on the puppy in the doghouse again.

They still Brew PBR.
Got pie eyed on PBR as a teenager. Sick for days … Commode hugging sick.

I’m calling BS on EF’er’s claim that pooch is an F1B Goldendoodle… I have a trained eye for porch pooches and that one is from the newfangled hillbilly designer breed origin… It is definitely a Golden Highlander Dorch Shick (GHDS), no questions about it…
Also, since the GHDS has been shunned, and put in his PBR shun-hole… It is only appropriate he be named Shunkey…
Finally, why in the heck does EF’er have a life size statue of PeePal outside by his door? I’ll save you the trouble PeePal… Dammit…

Thanks EF. I enjoyed the photos.
Luna and Mazie’s first boat ride; round trip from Cypress Gardens to the harbor and back, 67 miles about 2.5 hours. They did great.
are you on chicken creek?
Yes, that is where we started and finished.
Those are some good lookin’ pups there I’ll tell you what

looks like deer do not like martin Gourd’s … No fall pumpkins for the wife, due to deer infestation. But she’ll have a few gourds to work with. Last of this years garden for now.
Good lookin gords!
I was able to get three small pumpkins, but that’s it for me. I’m determined to grow some big pumpkins in the future. I’ve only managed a few last year and this year. This year’s were bigger for sure, but still no where near what I’m looking for. I’d love to be able to consistently grow them around 20-30 lbs. We’ll try again next season!
