Got back into the reds yesterday. Last trip only caught 3 lower slots on the flood tides. Tide back to normal and the reds back in my creeks in good size schools and feeding. Just kept following the schools up the creek on the low incoming. They would hold up for awhile on each bend with oysters and structure and was able to pick off a few at each one. 17 total for today with 14 over slot 25" to 31" Preferred lure for the day was a 5" grey scented zman paddletail. Fantastic day on the water. Wakes and swirls everywhere and was an exciting thing to see. Love this Feb fishing. Took 14 pics with my phone but i’m having problems with the insert image file on this site again and would only let me post one pic.

If that’s all I have to worry about…there’s nothing to worry about.
All were released and swam away strong. Don’t know if one will make it however. He managed to swallow a wide gap 4/0 red worm hook with a 5" paddletail and gold bullet weight. I knew I would not be able to get it out without killing him for sure so did not even try. Cut the line right away, got the paddletail out and bullet weight and released. He was in good shape when released and not bleeding. Anyone have any opinions if he will live?

my opinion is that you did the right thing- i’ve seen flounder with fully healed gig holes straight through them and redfish with stainless j-hooks through their stomach walls scarred over and seemed to be doing just fine
