Has anyone seen any Spanish mackeraal out there yet. All set to go after them but weather kicking my butt. My usual partner has been under the weather so working it alone has been tough. Would love to know where they are!
I am having the same problem with the weather and work. One of them needs to give me a break.

I read that they show up in 70+ degree water. Yesterday it was 64-65 degrees in the 60-100 ft areas to the SE. We probably need a week or two for some warmer water to move in.
I agree. Was out to Capers reef yesterday and water temp was 64 degrees. Water needs to warm up. But the water was best I’ve seen it in a long time

That’s great to hear so things are starting to come around. I bet it was really nice out there today. Reports said 1 ft seas today

it was nice today and lots of small spanish around and blues
Yep, the chompers have shown up on the reefs as of late and the weather seems to have stabilized for now. They were all over the 60’s reefs.
Had a decent day trolling for Spanish on Saturday. Can’t wait to get back out and do it again!!
