Hurricane Boat Anchors

Ran across these on FB. Anyone have any experience with them? I know that now that we have IP many would rather get a root canal than have to drop an anchor, but I still will on a windy day if I feel it’s worth it. Also, looks like it would be good for those who like to to double anchor and fish cut bait.

Thanks for the info.! Went to the website and read the spec and rec. on rope and chain, sounds like they have it together.

I only make my reef anchors. I have cheap anchors that work great in the lake, but sometimes have problems in creeks inshore when the current’s running pretty good and seems like that crossbar on these may help them catch better in current. I was gonna get one of these until it sounded like boatpoor may pick one up, so I may wait now in case they turn out to be an overpriced POS. LOL. J/K, probably pick one up before the fall.

So what kind do you make yourself? Got a pic?

I’ve got a neighbor with a machine shop and looking for new ideas on anchors. Hope I will get a prototype soon! Might work well on my bigger offshore boat! I hate all the rode and chain to pull in deep water even with an anchor ball! It might cut it by 50 %. I like the gulf where you can pull up to a rig and throw a grapple or use the hook!

I'll take a pic when I get home. I have used mine in the Santee canal, inshore creeks around Charleston, at the jetties when them big ships come through and in the harbor and they bite pretty good.
