Hows the sucking power? Interested but wondering if it works on hardwood floors as well as carpet?

It totally sucks! We used to have two of them and that double sucked... But sold the first and have replaced them both with the hand held units so the kids could vacuum the house!

Honestly it works great on both. The first time we used it I was very surprised by how much it pulled out of the carpet compared to our old vacuum (Electrolux). The red disk on the head switches it from hard floor to carpet.
