Hydraulic steering helm

My boat has a fresh repower. I searched for info on hydraulic steering but it seems to be mostly bleeding instructions.

My sea star helm has a little bit of fluid running out of the filler after the first two drives.

Could this be overflow from being overfilled? Is there an o-ring for the cap that will likely need replacement? Can I just fill it back up or is there a proper fluid level to fill to?

There is an O-ring on the filler cap. Fill it to the top with fluid.

When I take the cap off my steering to add or check fluid I always put a bucket under the unit to catch any spills and have a rag ready! make sure you turn the steering( when you bleed )all the way both port and starboard as far as it will go, don’t force it

Larry has it right. replace the o ring on your filler cap.
