Hydrotherapy on Loosewire 05/06

Left Shem creek at 3:45 aboard Loosewire with 4 dozen woo’s in search of some Carolina gold. Plowed through the fog for most of the ride till we ran into a 3 degree temp rip at the terrace. First hit was a screemer that ended with a broken hook:frowning_face:. No more action till we found a weed bed in the rip and pulled 2 gaffers and 2 slingers in the boat. Had one more gaffer do 15 jumps before parting ways with the hook. I was one perfect day o the pond.
Ran in to a school of rays on the way in as far as the eye could see.

Nice pic.

I heard the rays were the highlight of just about everyone’s day. I hope it’s a lot better tomorrow.

It was definitely a great day on the water!

Good going guys!! :slightly_smiling_face:

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

those look like they might be cownose rays, not stingrays…I could be wrong though…either way they must have been THICK becuase everybody reported seeing them…

animal cruelty sucks…unless his lip hurts cause there is a 1/0 Owner Aki hook with a chinaback stuck in it

most likely offshore are cownose and spotted eagle, so i believe bonzo’s got the ID.

look closely at a cownose though… despite those tiny stubby tails, they have spines that are nastier than the inshore garden variety southern stingaree

Looks like a cobia escort to me! Glad ya’ll caught a few and made it back safe.

Good call Bonzo. They did look a little different than sting rays that i have caught. It was a cool site to see. they swam in almost perfect formation.
