Well, today makes a week since my last cigarette. I did the hypnosis. It works and made a great deal of sense, especially once “being put to sleep” is debunked and you learn what hypnosis actually is and the effect it is designed to have.
In a quick nutshell, hypnosis is not sleep but intense relaxation in which you are totally aware. The deep relaxation (body and mind) allows suggestions to be fed to your subconscious.
88% of your brain is subconscious, the other 12% conscious. The subconscious does what it has learned and is comfortable with, whether it is a good thing or a bad thing. And it always looks for the easy way out.
Example - you know smoking is bad for you, and you hate the fact that you do it. That is your conscious (which uses logic and reason).
But you see your neighbor smoking a cigarette and say “ah, maybe just one” or “I’ll just get one pack and smoke a couple a day and then quit.” That is your subconscious - looking for the easy path toward what is comfortable and known.
You smoke - and go back to feeling weak and stupid again.
Hypnosis - WHEN DONE PROPERLY - gets to the heart of your habit and routines, and then synchs the subconscious and conscious so that it is on the same page.
I didn’t mean to run this long, but this is the longest I’ve gone without a cig in almost 30 years (I’m only 45) and the first method besides will power that has made sense.
I tried hypnosis before but realized then (and especially now) that he was a quack. This session was quite different.
Anyhow, it feels good - and seems like it will continue. If I can help someone in anyway by discussing this, feel free to PM me a number and I can get more detailed. I wish I knew more long ago and may have pursued it then.
Waaaaayyy longer winded than I intended!
