Hey guys im kind of new here, i haven’t posted in over a year, anyways im looking for some advice. I cant decide between a 6ft Berkeley Lighting Rod or a St. Croix Triumph. Im going to put a shimano smytere(spelling) so if any yall have some experience with the two, or could point me towards another rod that yall like in the same price range? Thanks
I don’t know how much those cost, but I’ve got a shimano compre and love it. Cost me $110. I wanted a light and sensitive setup which i got. I also have a symetre. Mine is a 3000. Do what I did. Take your reel to the shop and put it on the rods. It’s all about feel which is subjective. No one can tell you which one will feel right to you.

I have a Berkeley Lighting Rod that I use for freshwater fishing and overall I have been pleased with it. Keep in mind a 7 ft rod is going to give you more distance when casting. You might want to step up to a 6 1/2 at least. Good luck and catch-em up.
He must Increase, but I must decrease. John 3:30
Thanks Guys, well i wanted a shorter rod for topwater and throwing grubs. My Ugly Stick now is a 6 1/2 so i was thinking about a lighter rod.
If you have any questions at all, go to Haddrells, “SP”, in WA and ask Dee or Scott, they have always steered me in the right direction no matter what, gotta love the Charleston tackle shops, at least Haddrells Point, good luck and God bless, Tight Lines!!!
