Conditions were not favorable for fishing Sunday, but with my schedule I go when I can. I layered up and headed out with some frozen mullet. Found a spot out of the wind, tossed my line out and apparently I needed a nap. I woke up completely disoriented to my reel screaming. Took me a few seconds to figure what the hell was going on. Reeled in a nice red, then I packed it up and headed home. Has anyone else fallen asleep in their kayak?
Pretty fish. Maybe I need to sleep more when I’m fishing.
So that is my problem. Dang, I have been staying awake the whole time.
I’ve been in some quiet creeks and felt like catching some Z’s, but afraid of a rude awakening in the water!

I have been know to take a nap or two on the water, warm breeze gentle rocking, you know the rest, just look to the left
I have definitely taken naps in my yak. 15-20 minutes after sitting in the sun all morning. Feels great for the afternoon.
When I was in my teens I fell asleep fishing with my dad and his buddy. Woke up to a screaming reel and reeled in the biggest croaker any of us have ever seen in our lives. It was at least 16-17 inches
