Skeeter drove 1.5 hrs to my property Sat morning and arrived at 6;30 AM. He said lets get to work. Then I had to yell at him to stop after 13 HOURS!!! This guy is my new best friend.
We met up On CH. I had never seen him before Sat. I laughed when he got out of the truck. I told him that he exactly as I imagined. He said “What, like a marine?” If you can find a better guy I want to know it.
Oh yes. All he wanted was gas money.
I would not hear of it and gave him almost what it was truly worth. In typical high class marine fashion, he said the next its free.
I can not tell you how proud I am that there are still incredible Americans like him. The problem is that the aver college kid today has never met anyone with his sense of duty and honor.
Skeeter, my new best friend
Don’t know how this hasn’t gotten any replies! Good on you, Partners-Ship, for taking the time to throw Skeeter some shine.
And (obviously) well done, Skeeter. Guys like you give me some hope for the future and make me proud to live in the greatest country this world has ever known. Semper Fi.
“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”
Thanks Partners-Ship. I sincerely appreciate it! You and your buddy were AWESOME folks to meet, and it was my pleasure. You will have to let me take you fishing in the fall on a day that you want to take a break from hunting. Oct and Nov is speckled sea trout SMOKING time! I hope you get that big one this season.

Thank you, Sir. The world has gone stupid, and there are not enough “good” people anymore–at least it seems that way. If I can help to change that in small ways, I will.

Well done and well said sir. I’m the same way. Can’t fix this world, but we can all make a small piece of it better.

The ironic thing is, both of y’all have far exceeded your “required quota” of doing good, and you’re both still lookin’ to do more. Meanwhile, all the takers and bottm-feeders are tryin’ to figure out how to take more than they deserve…

Well said, BB. Larry, I think you are do for an upgade, lol. New avatar, perhaps:sunglasses:
Thanks for both you and Skeets service!

So now I have to ask the question… What did Skeeter help you do?
Did he bring his mule and plant some stuff for you?
.
Fred
Skeeter bush hogged a mile of roads and shooting lanes. The he plowed 2 food plots.
Hunting, fishing, and poker are my sports. Work when necessary.

Nah, DoubleN…Fred just likes my mule (ha,ha). It is hard to find one of those these days, but they still do an awesome job for smaller stuff. I’m just glad i was able to get a new engine on that thing so it will last another 30 years.

. Not being a smart ass !! Google mechanical mule. Almost everyone that had a "house garden " when I was little had one. Of not that a cub tractor was next on the list.

Not sure where my avatar with the weehoo went. I’ll work on that. Glad this world still has people like Skeeter.

You too Cracker. Thanks guys. I love working outdoors and improving places for wildlife. I’m still learning, but my learning curve is decreasing rapidly. I was lucky this season. A gentleman 4 miles down the road from my house is allowing me to hunt his property. He has a touch of diabetes, and I have been going out of my way to load him up on veggies from the garden, fresh fish, and deer meat because his doctor highly recommends that stuff for him. I’m gonna kill a deer for him this season, pay for the processing, and deliver it to his front door in person. I look at it as building a relationship. I’m a man of my word, so he will get the deer I have promised him and more fish, and I will follow the rules for hunting his place to the letter. His place has not been hunted in 4 years (about 100 acres mostly field with about 25 acres of woods). That last person screwed it up by bringing a bunch of people that were not supposed to be there. That won’t happen with me.

Skeeter, very cool what you are doing to help out your neighbor.

He is the best

Sounds to me like he just likes riding tractors around. I’ll bet he’s still singing “she thinks my tractors sexy” now.
haha good post.

Tractors are fun, and I do like hydraulic power…especially as I get older.
