I don’t fish out of a kayak but the moving tides are good for trout. On lures live bait rarely fails. I like artificals lures like grubs, gulp, topwaters, redfish magics and many others. Go to the chareleston angleror barton burwell and they will give you some good tips. And where are you going to put in so i can give you some spots.
thank you I live in beaufort I usually go to grace hill landing

I know nothing about beafort. I fish the wando and cooper rivers. Sorry
Murray…
I have already contacted Fishhunter, and given him some tips on Redfishing here.
As for the deck…ALMOST done. The decking and most of the railing is done. Still have to finish two rail sections, paint, trim, and fascia… I had to do alot of manipulating to get the stairs looking good, and add in three more raisers… Definately not as professional as your framing.
I would have gone fishing with fishhunter, but had to work, and the dang deck takes most of my weekends… Cutting the ballisters has proven to be tediuos and error prone. What I get for trying to make something aesthetically pleasing that requires compound miters and cuts.

Those who can’t fish, spend too much on seafood!
I learned 3 hard lessons today about kayaking </font id=“size3”></font id=“purple”>
1)</font id=“red”> if you go on the big river make sure that you dont paddle against the tide and wind blowing at(15+ mph)
2)</font id=“red”> dont try to set the hook and change your $300 prescription glasses
leaning to one side (glasses went down the water) it was a stingray
3)</font id=“red”> to not lie to myself thinking that I was going to find the glasses when the tide went down
It was a hard day (but a good adventure) thats what makes it exiting

me and hobcawboy usally fish in the hobcaw creek and i have seen people including myself catch trout on glow doa lures. we will just work them by poping them
use a skitter walk that looks like a trout
trout king how do you pop a grub:question:
Just got back from Hunting Island. I fished the lagoon three days. Caught 5 reds 1st day on outgoing tide with a cajun thunder and 3" Gulp shrimp. Next day caught my first red on a fly with my 9wt and a clouser. Unfortunately, took a hit on my rod with the clouser and it failed an hour later. Thank god for TFO unconditional warranty. Caught a nice 20" red after that with a rattle spoon. 3rd day fished incoming tide with my 10wt fly rod for about 2 hours with no luck. Put in at the landing on the other side of the bridge from Harbor Island and fished down to the bridge over the oyster beds with a red fish magic. No luck. I typically vacation this time of the year and late winter/early spring. What are the best months for reds on a fly? Any other places I ought to try? I fish out of a Heritage Red Fish Yak.
Seems to me like the fishing is best in the creeks and rivers 1hr before, during and 1hr after either tide. especially low. When the tide gets rippin, I go eat lunch and maybe surfcast (or take a nap, then attack the next tide. Don’t be frustrated if you cant find them right away, they come in hard and fast and then theyre gone.
