Why the heck are flats boats so ■■■■ expensive compare to bay boats, center console boats etc. You can buy a 28 to 32 foot mid-line boat with 175 to 250 horse power for the same price as a 17 to 18 ft. mid-line to upscale flats boat. I just don’t understand. Is it marketing gimmick or is the cost of building that boat from a manufactoring point of view just that much more? Any thoughts!
If I had to take a wild guess I would say that there isn’t a huge demand for them therefore a higher mark-up. There is a market for them. Don’t get me wrong.
It’s like jeans. My wife can go out a buy a $300 pair or she can get a pair for $80. The $80 pair is ideal for all around use but the $300 makes a statement and fits the body better and serves a specific purpose.
