Anybody know how long to budget for icw trip from Georgetown to Charleston? In a 21’ Parker not a sailboat.
Garrison Landing to the harbor is about 20miles I typically can do that in about 35 mins… I am going to WAG an hour and fifteen to 1.5 hours… but that is also in my boat do 30-35mph. Not sure that helped at all. Google earth allows you to point to point distance and then you can do the MPH calculations.
Thanks for the response. Looks like that is about a third of the way there. Are there any no wake zones or is it wide open all the way?

I’d say 2-3 hours depending on weather, how fast you run, and where in Charleston you start. It takes me about 45 minutes to run from IOP Marina to Jeremy Creek in MCLV which is about 25 miles on the water. That is running about 35mph and being considerate in all No Wake Zones. Georgetown is another 25 miles or so past that by boat but you have to get into the bay, it can be rough, and there are a few more No Wakes.
I agree with Sermon I have run up there for lunch and returned in same day I budget 3 hours each way. Depending on the wind it can get real rough in places like Santee Delta and Winyah Bay necessitating slower speeds of course if it is summer you have all the no wake zones from Sullivan’s Island to past the Isle of Palms marina to traverse which will add perhaps 30 minutes to your trip. Bell Isle marina has a very nice lunch and dinner café that might be worth trying. I ate there about a year ago and especially enjoyed the loaded potato salad.
Thanks for the info.
