My motor starts and iles fine at the boat ramp. I can run up the river, or like today, out to the jetties and back up the river with no problems. On the last few trips, every time I ease into a creek to catch bait, it chokes down. It will start right back up, but will sputter and choke down again. It will run fine at mid- full speed, with no problems.
I have changed the plugs, changed the in-line water seperator filter, pumped the bulb, and even taken that little fuel filter that’s on the motor under the cowling off, cleaned and checked it.
Anyone have any ideas as to what my problem might be ?
Any advice is much appreciated.
Mine did the same and it was carbs that needed to be cleaned

You can try running some engine tuner through the engine and then start using ring free in the fuel.

Thanks Capt. I have never run any sort of fuel additive except Stabill. I will try your suggestion. Thanks!

usually a partially clogged filter or similar issue will result in poor top end, but it will be fine at idle.
how long has it been since the plugs were changed?
Chris,
I changed the plugs just a few weeks ago. I bought them at your shop.
I have also changed both fuel filters. It idles fine hooked up to the muffs in the driveway. It’s kind of strange that it only does it when we’re catching bait up a creek.
Do you recommend an “enginer tuner” to run through it or a fuel injector cleaner ?
Thanks
