If no fiddlers, next best bait for sheeps?

If you can’t find live fiddlers, (and getting live shrimp may be questionable), what’s the next best sheepshead bait people would recommend, especially for the jetties?
Thanks

strips of clam or grab some oysters out the river and scoop out the meat for bait. Can’t go wrong with the oysters for sure.

The oyster meat is good. Try the black mussels that grow with the oysters. Hook them through the hinge. Also found the mussels weed out the smaller undersized fish and keeps other fishes from eating your fiddler.
This will also slow the bite since only the larger fish seem to be able to take on a 1 1/2 " to 2" mussel shell.
Haven’t been much this year. Let us know how you did on the sheeps and good fishing.
