All the reasons you listed are why I bought my Pioneer 222SF, not to mention it isn’t bad on gas.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

…which is a 25’ boat. Good boat either way. Lots of good options. Do you like higher cruise speeds? The Albemarle isn’t going to offer that and if you realistically aren’t planning on using the boat frequently, I’d shy away from a diesel powered boat.
Do you want twin engines? New or used? Keeping it on a lift or already have a trailer for it? Do you need something with a lot of seating or a pure fishing boat? Do you want or have a preference for 2 or 4 strokes?
Answering those questions will help us give you some useful input.
Good questions from YnR. Also, do you prefer bottom fishing or trolling? A long and skinny deep V hull will excel in ride and trolling, but will probably roll your azz off while bottom fishing. Every boat is a trade off in characteristics.
Which is why a man needs at least 3 boats, preferably 5

You can buy my 22’2 Grady with Yamaha F250 320 hrs and keep 35 grand in your pocket. 96 gallon tank will fish offshore out to 226 hole on 60 gallons. Hull weight is 3100 lbs dry rides great for the size.
Regardless if you want to spend 65k buy a sligthly used boat of a high quality make and get as much hp and length as you can. 22 to 24 gets small offshore really quick.
Your post says deep V Ctr. console. Ironically none of the boats you mentioned are not what I would consider to be deep V. For me deep V means 24? dead rise or more. This deep of a V will give you an outstanding ride. As cracker mentioned the trade off to this is regardless of manufacture a boat that deep is going to roll more while bottom fishing. This is a trade off that I personally am happy to except simply because I hate getting beat on the way out and home. There are only a few manufacturers that make a true deep V in the 23 foot. Your options include Regulator, Contender, Sea-craft, Albemarle or old Bertram. (There may be a few other smaller Florida manufacturers out there that make this deep of of a V but they are not as well known, Bluewater or Island Runner come to mind.) The good thing is that the five major brands listed are all top notch boats. The bad thing is unless you are willing to purchase used they are out of your price range. as mentioned above you need to consider power options as well. The Albemarle or Bertram would only be available as a inboard/outboard option. Regulator, Contender, Sea Craft would all be faster outboard options. Personally I prefer outboards mostly because that is what I am most familiar withand I like the ability to run fast when needed. With that being said Regulator and Contender would be my first two options. The only issue with Sea-craft is you have to to purchase a “potter” hull made either back in the 80s or one of the newer models made in the last 5 to 7-years. Comparing the contender and the regulator is tough. Obviously I own the contender and it is no doubt a fishing machine. I really love the flat deck and the huge fish boxes that the contender offers. The regulator is a hard-core machine as well. Though the regulator does not offer the flat deck and as big of fish boxes it does weight a thousand pounds more than the Contender which leads me to believe that running it in the ocean requires less tab then my contender does. I have also fished the old Potter h
Other general downsides to a deep V…
needs more HP to stay on plane
Less economical
Needs to stay at higher speed to stay on plane
More likely to chine walk (really only issue if you have a poorly designed hull)
The first 3 points can be countered with certain features in hull design and weight savings. The last one is just a matter of the builder doing their homework.
