Sorry you can’t make it…was looking forward to having some locals down here to fish with.
For those interested I will be posting to Twitter during the pre-fish and Tournament. I can be found under Beaufortfishing if you wish to follow the progress.
Thanks

The trout and bass are not an issue down here, now the flounder is a different story. Think the person who lands a flounder will sin the slam. I have never had so many short strikes and misses on top-water before. Overall was a good day of fishing, but sure would like to find some flounder.

I’ll be heading down tomorrow so if there is anything you’ve forgotten that you need let me know and I’ll bring it down. I’m staying at the Best Western as well. I’ve got a Kia van with a big palmetto tree on the back window with a red native manta ray so give me a wave when you see me.
The pre-fish went pretty well. Stopped fishing at Noon to take a rest and re-rig a couple rods. Ended the morning with 4 trout and 5 Reds with the largest at 22 and 27. Still no flounder, just not flouder water here. So will see how Sunday goes.

Hey guys being raised here in South Carolina right down the street(Moncks Corner) I can’t believed I missed this post. I live down in Jax, Florida now and went down to Titusville for the tourney and watched the weigh in for the big boys on Sat. and my partner and I quickly deducted that it was tough fishing there so we deviced a plan to run to Jax and fish some local waters. Well the plan was to hit a flounder and at least get in the money. We knew we would shorten our fishing time by about three hours to make it back in time but we figured the calculated risk was worth it. Had the trout within a few minutes of safe light about 22.5 inches and then took me til 0810 to wrangle a 24.5 inch Red on topwater. Spent the next 4 hours trying to get a flounder to bite and no takers. Anyway we made it back to the weigh in(picture in) in plenty of time and that is pretty much the rest of the story. IFA and HOBIE put on a big show and they seem like they are dedicated to making it work next year. With the word getting out in the off season and the possibitlity of big prizes and prize money I think this thing could really take off. I’m definetly going to do a few next year and plan on hitting Charleston. A special thanks to s1tpilot (James) for carrying my Pro Angler back to my house on the way home. I really appreciate it!! Any of you guys make it to Jax, look me up or shoot me an email and we’ll go fishing.
