They probably just missed a zero on that 10%. I did notice the sky was a strange shade of blue this morning. I’m heading out tomorrow, probably going to fish up around Bomb

If I can talk my wife into letting me take off from work tonight, I’m going to try for this afternoon-evening.

We went out this morning and drifted from Goat to beyond Frey Key. Saw lots of fish between 80 and 120 feet, but as seems to have been their custom since mid April, they sure were not inclined to bite. Just managed two and a couple of other pulldowns. Even worked hard with a 4 oz jigging spoon to no avail. Talked to a guy who came up from the towers. Said nothing was going on there. Finally gave up where we were and checked out a couple of deep cuts on the NE side of the lake that has been kind to us in the past, but didn’t even see anything there. I suppose we ought to be thankful for not being stormed on or blown off the water, but it will sure be nice when we get some stability in our weather patterns.

A good friend was bream fishing in the elbow area yesterday with his grandkids. As he put it, there were monster stripers schooling with a bunch of largemouth in the same school. I haven’t been able to get out yet, and I know you can’t depend on schooling fish, but somebody ought to check the area out if they aren’t doing anything in the lower lake.
If I’m lucky the doctors might let me get on the water in a few more weeks. Then again, I’ve already been lucky with a prognosis to make a full recovery. I guess it makes missing several weeks worth it. Kind of trading off a few weeks now for lots more years of fishing later.
