Any one have a slow turning 110v motor laying around like an old sewing machine, microwave, disco ball, etc that is collecting dust they want to get rid of? Let me know. Doing some tinkering…ha

Chip, How about a garage door motor? I’ve got a 1/2 hp. from when I upgraded mine. It’s been three years and I still haven’t found a use for it. It’s yours if you want it.
I’ll trade you a homemade blue planer board for it.

Bob,
Think that may work just fine. I just happen to have a homemade board sitting in my passenger seat in my truck…ha

So you are going ahead with your green disco ball fish attractor. Should work great for bait and the dancing will drum in the fish.

The fish wont know what hit them tom…lol…might even put in a verticle pole up front… double as a planer board mast in the day and well you can use your imagination for its use at night…
In all seriousness though I am messing around with tearing a few old junk rods apart and then rewrapping them with custom designs. Once I figure it out I may tear my tx rods apart and make them my own.
The motor is going to be used to “turn” the rods or dry the rods so they say. Just playing for now. They want almost 300$ for a turner. See a ton of homemade ones online using everything from a disco ball motor to a ice cream maker…

I have several electric motors, but not sure any of them will turn as slow as you’re going to need for turning rods …

I wonder if a cheap multi speed drill would work. I would think you could get it to turn slow enough. just a thought.

How about wiring in a rheostat (light dimmer)to control the speed?
