In-Shore Charters?

My nephew will be down this summer to spend a week with me. He’s 11 years old and loves to fish. His father has pretty much been a know show in his life thus far. I was planing on taking him out on a head boat for a day but at $90.00 bucks a head it’s a little out of my price range. Not to mention I doublt I will get 11 hours out of him. I was wondering if anyone can recommend an inshore charter that does half-day trips for a reasonable price? I just want to see the little man catch a fish or two. I would be willing to wash/wax the boat for a discount in the price. Also pick up the food for the trip. Thanks for any info in advance.

I don’t think I am reasonably priced. Curious as to what a reasonable price to charge would be.

Honestly though, check with barrier Island Eco Tours 843-886-5000, They do group inshore trips that they pair you up with other families. You may get lucky and be the only ones on the boat or there could be a total of 6 and the captain. Its probably more what you are looking for.

With gas what it is today I don’t think anyone can afford to be reasonable. To be honest I don’t know what a reasonable price would be. If you could tell me how much you normally charge and how many people your boat can hold. Maybe I can get some people together. Thanks for your help!

Summertime rates are $550 for 5 hours for up to 5 people. A 6th person can be added for an additional $50. Barrier Island runs 3.5 hour trips and charges around $60 a person I think. I will try to ask them tomorrow at the marina.

My dad and I might be able to take you bottom fishing if you want to do that. Ill talk to him about it. We go out on a 26 foot glacierbay.

Ron, you’ll likely be able to find someone on this site that is willing to take ya’ll out for your share of gas and bait. Thats how I do most of my inshore fishing. With gas prices as they are, everyone likes to have a few on the boat to hedge the cost. It won’t be with a guide, but I’m sure several guys here would be more than willing to take you and your nephew out for a morning of fishing. Let me know the dates, and I may be able help out. I have plenty of friends with boats, and they are always looking for a crew. Your share will definitely be under $100 if you just want to fish inshore.

My Dad said we can take you fishing just tell us when yall want to go.

Just remember to purchase your fishing licenses and you should be good to go.

Only have me and a buddy on the boat Sunday if you and the boy want to jump on board. You can through in on gas and bait or jump on for free if you wash and wax the boat.
I am not a Captain or Charter just to let you know. Do have rods for you, but we will only be running to 3 mile or 10 mile. Some of these guys might be running out farther if that is what you want.
Send me an email for the not so early time we are leaving.
