Captured this footage while Rooster fishing in Costa Rica. Look in the background. Charter Captain likely soiled his shorts.
The guys going out of Hillsboro Inlet, Boca Raton Inlet, and Boynton Inlet in SE Fla do that a lot. One boat lifted the front deck when he hit a wave head on in Boca Inlet.
pretty setting, but that’s nothing compared to jupiter inlet or several other points on the eastern seaboard. thanks for bragging on your video though…
They crab fishermen in the Bearing Sea go through some big stuff as well. Here, they were not coming out of an inlet. Either they worked in a little to close, or got caught by a surprise wave. The captain did a good job, because moments before, he was broadside.

I go out of Boynton Inlet and it sucks. When it’s low tide, you see about 2-3 feet of water under the boat and your basically slipping over a sand bar. If you have a good chop, you can “feel” the bottom once in a while. If it’s rough and low tide, I have to slip up to Lake Worth Inlet. Followed a larger boat through the breakers a couple of weeks ago on an outgoing tide against an East wind and saw legit 7 footers crashing on the shallow part of the sandbar. Scary stuff… Way easier going on of CHS.

Hah, try the Stono at dark thirty with outgoing lo water witn an onshore wind, definitly will “feel” the bottom crossing over the bar in the troughs.

True, it would have been better to say he did not completely f*** it up, because he was able to get the bow turned.
