Incredible Kiawah Fishing!!

Went out to do some scouting and decided to try a few spots and techniques I had not tried in a while. I dropped my kayak in Cinder creek, fished the falling tide. Caught 36 spottails and 22 trout, ALL on grubs. The bass ranged 18"-28" and all the trout were keepers with the largest around 22". I have been fishing/guiding out there for four years now and have never caught that many quality fish in such a short time frame and in one creek! I have fished there many times before but usually from a canoe.I came back in and had lunch then decided to motor on over to bass creek but towed my kayak with me. Once I made it up the creek a fair piece I anchored the boat and climbed on my yak. I paddled into a small creek that feeds one of the lagoons on the island. As I floated into the creek with the tide I began to throw a pattern around some shell piles. Bang! Third cast in the formation and a 30" bruiser took me for a ride. I finally had to drive my paddle into the mud to stop floating then proceeded to bring him to the hill. I fished for another hour and caught three more bass 2-20" and a 24". All the fish were released. I finally called it a day and went home to give thanks. Days like that may only come once in your life but if that’s the case, I can live with it.
