Industrial paper cutter

So I was doing my weekly browsing of goodwill and found a Dahle paper cutter for $50. It looked extremely heavy duty so I googled it. After a quick search I found these are going for 1700 bucks in surf condition and 2500 new. Needless to say I bought it. But now I have an industrial paper cutter I have no use for haha. Anyone know how to go about selling one of these? I have thought about eBay and Craigslist but figured this may be an item for a more precise market. The model is a Dahle 852. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It’s only a good score if it’s an item you can sell. First thing you need to do is ensure that it’s complete, with both safety guards, paper stop, make sure the electronics work, make sure the blade is there and sharp, and make sure it has the handle, then make sure it makes good cuts.

You hit the nail on the head…someone who uses a stack paper cutter will be in a niche market. I would suggest ebay. Don’t expect $1300 for it either. Put a $50 min bid on it and let it ride. Reserve the right to pull it at any time. You can post to see how the auction is going to go and if you like it, ride it out. If you are not satisfied with $100, pull it. I’d think it would go $500 on ebay.

Is it this one? http://www.amazon.com/Dahle-852-Premium-Stack-Cutter/dp/B000WOKYEQ Not 1700, but still a heck of a score at $50. Put it on ebay like RT said. Buyers pays for shipping

wow,I had no idea those things cost so much. Guess the folks at good will didnt either:smiley:

That's the one! But the one on amazon doesn't include the stand once I read the details. The one I found has the stand which apparently costs 560 bucks new. Obviously I won't get near that if I sold them seperate but still I'm just shocked how expensive a few pieces of metal can get. Never would have guessed it

For the record, it says it will cleanly cut up to 700 sheets of paper… I’d have to make a trip to staples and test that out.
