Inflatable Boat Trailers??

I just recently bought a 12.5’ inflatable for fishing the inlets. I hate having to pack and unpack the thing whenever I use it. Im looking for a trailer for it, can anyone make suggestions? Ive seen the ones at Harbor Freight, but theres really no tube support on them. Any help is appreciated! :sunglasses:

I’ve never seen an inflatable boat trailer. That would be handy though. Get to the water transfer the air from your trailer to your boat and load the trailer in the boat till you get done. Then just but the air back in the trailer and go home.

genius

sorry I couldn’t resist

I was thinking more along the lines of either of these. Not quite sure what you’re talking about here. I just don’t have the know how to modify one for my needs, unfortunately.

I’ve got a galvanized trailer that’s beat up. Bunk brackets gone and a bad hub that needs replacing. I bought a new trailer for my 16’ high tide and don’t need this one anymore. Perfect project start to a inflatable trailer. Let me know if you are interested. I’ll make you a deal.

Otherwise, I’m rebuilding it and selling it.

Get 2 or 3 -2 X 12s of appropriate width and mount them crossways on the trailer. Cut “U” shaped sections in them that match the cross section and width of the pontoons.

That sounds pretty simple. What type of wood, water sealer, and bunk carpet would you guys recommend for best saltwater hold-up?

Just pressure treated 2 x 12, or 2 X 10 from Lowes or Home Depot, whichever size best fits the pontoons. No sealer necessary. You could use outdoor carpeting from there also to cover it, or pay more at a marine supply store for about the same thing.

I think djhurayt was making a funny... You are talking about a trailer for inflatable boats... He is talking about an inflatable trailer for boats... As in, a trailer that you can let the air out of...

Wouldn’t the trailer float when you backed it down to load the boat?:wink:

Thats the idea haha. Y’all are funny

The rescue/dive boat at work is one of the inflatable boats. They use a flat utility trailer modified to clear the outboard. If I wind up having to go to headquarters I will try to remember to take a picture of it to give you a better idea.

You’re the man. Thanks!

I ended up getting the second trailer pictured above. Just got it put together and am putting a 4x8 treated/ carpeted deck on it. Ill try and post pictures after I get the carpet on and the deck installed! :sunglasses:

I know you bought one, but I saw this on craigslist today:
