I received an inflatable vest for Christmas and have used it once. Been thinking about something. More times than not, I get hit with spray when crossing the bays. How much spray can these vests take without inflating? I can see this thing going off while running.

They have a little dissolvable tablet that should be protected from spray by a flap I believe. They are reusable by purchasing a new cartridge for them.

Goob, It does take a lot of spray to activate the inflatable. Is your the tablet or hydrostatic? If it is a tablet keep a pack of tablets on the boat they come in 10 to a pack and a couple CO2 cartridges. If it is hydrostatic it is costly to to replace that system. Oh and when it does go off on you when you are not expecting it a extra roll of TP is in order. I have had it happen to be about 6 or 7 time in my line of work. Scares the crap out of me every time, but it does take a lot to go off. Replace the table monthly and you should not have a problem.

I bought a manual PFD that can be inflated by mouth as well as the co2 cartridge activated by a pull cord.
I’d rather fish than eat.
