This maybe asking a bit much because i know how hard spots are to come by these days and keeping them to yourself is pretty tough, but never the less here it goes. I’ve been trying to get a Red otf for a year now and i just cant make it happen. Being boatless doesnt make it any easier. So if anyone could give me a suggestion or two on the best way to attack this lucklessness that i have experienced over the past year i would greatly appreciate it.

What flies (kind and color) are you using the most, when you look for reds? You might need to put a LOT of time in scouting spots, if you are on foot. I caught many more trout from shore than reds.
i had that problem when i was a kid, went for years without catchin a red on the fly. I finally got hooked up with tons of great fish in saltwater ponds, which are for the most part a shore anglers best friend. I know some sweet spots in Edisto where they eat flies, if you have a car and a free day i’d be glad to show you some good spots down on the island, i’m stuck downtown at the College of Knowledge w/o a vehicle and dyin to get out of the city & fling some string, but holler if your interested my name’s Colt 8643800490 here’s one of the big boys
