Input needed

Going out of Murrells Inlet in the morning…Bringing my trolling poles and some rigged with gotcha plugs and spoons for casting…Has anyone heard more of this fantasy rumor that the notorious King Mackerel is still out there?? I would like to catch some Spanish if nothing else…Your input?

We were at 3 mile 2 weeks ago. The radio was abuzz with king talk but we never saw anybody bent up or anything come over the side.

It ain’t no mystery…this beer’s history!

That’s the rumor…what channel are people frequent out there anyway?? Will spanish hit king rigs or do I need to use Gotcha’s and spoons??

Channel 10 and channel 68 is where I usually tune in. Big spanish will hit king rigs but if you want to catch all sizes you will probably want to use #1 and/or #2 planers with clarkspoons. My buddy likes to cast and retrieve a spoon off the bow while we are trolling. Sometimes he outfishes the trolling spread this way.

With all of the menhaden around you will probably have better luck with that over any other live bait.

Personally I’d rather catch a big honkin spanish than a big king any day of the week.

Be sure to report back.
