Best places are hard to find, but here are a few good ones. At most of these, cut shrimp and squid (cigarette butt sized scraps, #4 hooks) are your best bet.
Shem Creek boardwalk. It’s a long walk, take a cart/wagon.
Pitt Street park/pier. Also a long walk. Plenty of bait to be caught in the creeks on the inshore side of the walkway.
Fort Moultrie— great view of the harbor, walk is reasonable, chance at sharks, reds, and black drum are better than some places.
Breech Inlet— Similar chances of fish as Fort Moultrie.
