I just moved Charleston, Right by Edgewater Park/Wappoo area on the Stono River. I spent all weekend 5/3 and 5/4 about 14 hours fishing falling tides from a Kayak. I fished Grasslines, Opening of Coburg Creek, Docks, Different Canals and Elliot Cut.
I used a combonation of DOA Shrimp on a popping cork and cut mullett with half ounce weights on it and 2 ft fluro leader.
I didn’t get one single bite all weekend. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

It’s still a little early in the season to catch anything in Coburg Creek. I’ve only caught toadfish at the mouth of the creek under the bridge. If you can make it?try heading down some of the docks along the Stono between Coburg and the mouth of Elliot Cut. Also, try the big sign at the entrance to Elliot Cut, big reds around that sign and the nearby rocks. But it might be tough in a kayak with the wakes from boats going through the cut.
Thanks for the ■■■■■■■■. I did paddle down to the entrance of Elliott Cut I tried to anchor by that big sign but the huge wakes kept the anchor from sticking (I also didn’t have an anchor trolley to get me angled right).
Do you think I’m using the right baits? DOA Shrip on popping cork and Cut Mullett to the bottom?

try live minnows on the cork or bottom like a Carolina rig, cut shrimp…
come visit us at the Stono River Fishing Club every 3rd Wednesday at 7pm…
Thanks for the advice. I will definitely plan on joining the SRFC this month. Just wanted some tips in the mean-time. Going through some withdrawls, its been a couple months since I’ve caught anything.
